Doug Palardy, Proprietor

A Vermont native, Doug Palardy is a graduate of The Putney School and Bennington College where he studied Theatrical Design. Doug formerly operated several retail shops in Boston’s South End under the name Motley. His first foray into hospitality came in 2008 with the opening of the Ale House Inn in downtown Portsmouth and then The Hotel Portsmouth in 2014, prior to their sales in ’13 & ’15. With the opening of The Inn Downtown in 2019, Doug is now focused on the development of boutique apart-hotels on the Seacoast. Summer of ’20 will bring a 3rd property to his collection in Rye: Rye Motor Inn.

Abby Draper, General Manager

Abby has worked in hospitality for over 15 years. From a dining room manager at a Relais & Chateaux property in Colorado, to Assistant Inn Director at Shelburne Farms in Vermont—she has always loved providing top level service with a sense of humor and a keen attention to detail. In 2021 she made the move to the Seacoast to join Seacoast Apart-Hotels as General Manager. “After speaking with Doug about his vision of bringing the apart-hotel model to the US and seeing all of the photos of the well appointed and thoughtfully designed apartments, I knew this was the place for me!”, says Abby. She lives in Kittery, Maine with her partner and chef, Tim, and their dog Remy.
